What are the benefits of recycled plastic playground equipment?

• This material will never rot or decay even when dug into the ground (Timber posts will always rot and decay when they are secured below ground due to the wet ground conditions, thereby limiting their useful life)
• Recycled plastic will last a lot longer than timber
• It is environmentally friendly as the material is 100% processed using recycled plastic milk bottles – this is especially important in these times when so much plastic is causing such a problem to the world’s environmental balance
• It will not splinter or crack so no nasty surprises or injuries to children who use it. Rounded timber posts always suffer from a lot of cracking as the timber natural dries out from the centre or pith of the wood through what is known as radial cracking
• Plastic is hard to vandalise as it is less flammable than traditional timber and is resistant to most chemicals
