About Us
Peak Playgrounds is one of the leading manufacturers of outdoor play equipment, outdoor classroom buildings and shelters. Our extensive range includes both timber and metal options.
The company was founded in 2013 by Ricky Wood, a playground equipment expert with over a decade of experience in the manufacture and design of playground equipment. All equipment is manufactured in Chesterfield, a stone’s throw away from the peak District in the UK.
Our mission is to provide the best possible playground experience for schools, nurseries, parks, pubs and adventure parks.
Made in the Peak District
We are based in the busy town of Chesterfield and have assembled a team of skilled local craftsmen to help bring our play equipment to life.
All of our products are manufactured at our workshops in Chesterfield by skilled local craftsmen. We use FSC certified Grade 4 Tanalised Timber allowing us to offer a 10 year guarantee against wood rot and a 1 year guarantee on workmanship.
Every product is pre-assembled and inspected before it leaves the workshop ensuring a smooth installation process on site. We are proud to say that our installers are all in-house employees, we even deliver and install overseas!
Free Consultation & Design Service
We make it easy for you to create the perfect play space. Arrange a free consultation and one of our play equipment experts will visit you on location, take measurements and recommend playground equipment within your budget.
Our designers will provide a clear 3D and 2D visual plan of your playground so you can see exactly what your new playground will look like free of charge.
Free delivery and installation on orders over £3000
If your order is more than £3000 we will even deliver and install it for free.
Quality & Choice
Over past few years we have designed our own range of wooden playground equipment including the fantastic Captain Reuben’s Pirate Ship and our range of woodland play towers. Any components we cannot make ourselves are sourced from reputable suppliers including Fahr Industries, known for the quality of their play panels and playground springers.
We also supply a range of sensory products including mud kitchens, musical instruments and wheelchair accessible products.
Groundworks and Landscaping for playgrounds
To give your playground a really bespoke feeling, we are able to landscape the area and install a wide range of coloured safety surfaces. Tells us your ideas and we’ll help turn them into a reality.
Funding advice and Educational Resources
As part of our service we can offer advice on sources of funding for playground equipment and outdoor education projects. We are happy to help.
Working in partnership with the RSPB
As a business based in the Peak District we are keen to help the next generation learn about our surroundings. Working with the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds we developed the Peak Playgrounds Nature Watch Hut. Every nature watch hut comes complete with RSPB education packs and activities to help get kids interested in the local environment.
