Sansa - regional term for the African mbira or thumb piano.
Rimba - from marimba; xylophone of African origin.
The Sansa-Rimba is played with beaters offering children the chance to explore improvisation. Made with bright stimulating colours it makes a great addition to any playground.
The keys are arranged from the centre outwards like a traditional African thumb piano with a pentatonic scale in C ascending from the centre outwards.
The Sansa-Rimba can be built with individual notes of aluminium, IPE or GRP. Each material has a distinctly different sound. Each key has it's own individual resonator for clear (and loud) tones.
