Make some noise with Peak Playgrounds and Percussion Play musical instruments. The Akadinda is inspired by a traditional xylophone originating in Africa and is perfect for outdoor musical play.
Suitable for up to 4 players the enormous Akadinda helps promote sharing and creativity.
Great fun to play with huge resilient notes made from IPE which give a natural mellow, low tone. Tuned to the pentatonic scale in C major A2-D5. Because it is so large, it is loud!
Traditionally the base of an Akadinda was made from banana stems. With a lack of banana stems available our frame is made of a treated timber suitable to be installed into the ground or surface mounted. The Akadinda is perfect for improvising and experimenting with music whilst being in the fresh air.
